About Narcy
Yassin Alsalman is an Iraqi-Canadian rapper, novelist, university lecturer, and actor better known by his stage name Narcy (previously The Narcicyst). He now lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As a solo artist, he has recorded 10 albums and EPs, and he has collaborated with Mashrou' Leila, A Tribe Called Red, and yasiin bey. Narcy's most recent album, 2020's Love & Chaos, was recorded over the course of five weeks during the coronavirus epidemic. During a performance at the 2019 Sole DXB Festival in Dubai, where he shared the stage with Blackstar and Wu-Tang Clan. Todd Rundgren's latest single, "Espionage," a collaboration with Narcy that contains his lead vocals, was released on September 8, 2020. Narcy's performances and lyrics are frequently political in nature. In 2017, he collaborated with Jeremy Scahill, Desmond Cole, and Naomi Klein on a book.
